Pain Reprocessing Therapy for Chronic Pain
Pain Reprocessing Therapy is a powerful, neuroscience-based approach to managing long-term, chronic pain.
Often, our bodies and minds will keep sending pain signals to parts of our bodies that once were injured, even when there is no longer any structural or tissue damage that is causing the pain—long since the original injury has long since healed. Or, our bodies will send pain signals to our muscles when we experience intense, often negative, emotions, such as grief, anger, overwhelm, stress, or sadness.
Although pain itself is an important sensation that helps protect us from danger, it can sometimes be too “loud” or too overwhelming, to the point where pain is no longer a reliable tool for survival, but a perceived threat, annoyance, or even barrier to us being able to live our lives. As time goes on, our minds can get caught in the pain-fear cycle, which keeps pain signals stuck and our nervous systems in a heightened state of alert.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy helps make pain more manageable over time through pain neuroscience education, mindfulness-based practices, somatic awareness, coping skill development, emotional processing, and relapse prevention techniques.
Burnout Counseling for Therapists & Healthcare Workers
There’s a reason you got into this career.
You love helping others—it gives you fulfillment and joy. But, something isn’t feeling right. The stress and pressure of it all is wearing you down. You’re feeling burnt to a crisp, frustrated, and you’ve got no drive or motivation to do what you love to do. You’re irritated and frustrated, but more than that, you’re scared about what this might mean for your career.
So what do you do now? It feels like no matter what you do, you’ll be letting someone down. And it’s easy to rationalize sticking it out and hoping for the best. Maybe nobody will notice you’re struggling, and this whole burnout thing will just resolve on its own…
As a therapist for burnout in Indianapolis, I want you to know: you can get through this, and you don’t have to just “suck it up” or “pay your dues.”
Together, we’ll find new, healthier ways of approaching your personal & professional boundaries that will get you back to what you do best. Through our time together, you’ll feel more empowered to manage the symptoms of burnout and to create a well-defined sense of your capacity to give—which includes finding ways to give back to yourself.
Poly Friendly Therapy
Your love is limitless—but unfortunately, your time, emotional capacity, and energy are not.
Whether you’re new to polyamory and ethical non-monogamy, or you’ve been loving outside the lines for years, there are aspects of this relationship orientation that can be difficult to manage. This is especially true when we’ve got our own “stuff” that comes up during times of stress, overwhelm, anxiety, jealousy, or New Relationship Energy (NRE).
As a poly friendly therapist in Indianapolis, I’m here to help you expand your capacity for love through individual counseling that focuses on strengthening your sense of self, helping you build boundaries that are compassionate and ethical, and giving you the tools to withstand the ups and downs of opening up your relationships—and your world.
In polyamory friendly therapy, you’ll work with a therapist who is not only non-judgmental, but who has personal and professional experience with the world of poly and ENM, and who isn’t going to judge, shame, or question the way you love and live.
